Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then located multiple other marked cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state preliminary tests show the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to where it came from; investigators are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.
City officials stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.
A high-ranking political figure stated the attack left him stunned and had to be solved rapidly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in 2020.
